About The Music

The meditations we have collected here have been taught by Yogi Bhajan over a period of about 30 years, from the early 70’s to the beginning of the new millennium.
There has been a natural evolution of the music he has used while teaching these practices.
During the early years, there had been no recordings, and the students were instructed to chant in either Monotone, Kirtan Kriya Style, or in an Ascending scale (Kirtan Kriya is a classic meditation in Kundalini Yoga, and it is chanted in a specific way).
The ‘traditional’ way of chanting the Siri Gayatri mantra, is the one that has been introduced with the meditation called: “Healing with the Siri Gayaytri mantra”.
We have created the music tracks: Classic Remedy, and Desert Remedy, based on this version.
There had been many events in which musicians in the class used to play it live, in line with Yogi Bhajan’s instructions.
In the 90’s a new version has been introduced by Guru Nam Singh (Joseph Michael Levry), one of Yogi Bhajan’s students. (This version is based on a classical melody from the 17th century by Pachelbel called canon in D major). Yogi Bhajan has appreciated the version and identified it as being very effective with these practices. Therefore, most of the meditations he has taught around the 90’s and 2000’s were done with this version.
Since then, many musical versions have been created, including the one we are offering here as: Celestial Remedy – which is a great version for the Celestial Remedy meditation.
These versions are not as accurate for practice as the ones that Yogi Bhajan has taught. Nevertheless, they are great for surrounding yourself with the healing vibrations.
